The Lake Is Drying Up

I figured since the lake wasn't going to last much longer, and my fishing partner bailed on me, I might as well fish Twin Lakes on Saturday morning. Daddy and I had gone for a few minutes the night before and not had much luck since we didn't feel like walking to the deep stuff. All of the fish are stacked up in what's left, but are still concentrated on the ledges right off the flats in the really deep holes. I caught three bass and a Jack on a Carolina-rigged Key Lime Pie Zoom trick worm. Once I found them I caught the three bass in less than an hour. I had to wade about 40 yards from the bank just to be able to cast into the deep holes. Here's some photos of what's left of the lake. It's probably still more than 20 feet deep in the big hole, but that's a lot of fish going into one small area. Hope we get a monsoon soon.

Hank & Toby enjoyed an afternoon swim.

Daddy was a good supervisor, but didn't catch anything the night before.

Gamakatsu didn't play around on this one.

Sew Much to Learn!

Hello family & friends!
Drew and I have decided to use this blog to chronicle our adventures as newlyweds (mine crafty his probably more related to hunting and/or fishing). We hope that you enjoy our stories :)

As some of you may know, I have recently embraced craftiness and have a laundry list of craft projects on my to-do list for the summer. Once Drew introduced me to craftgawker I was obsessed! I finished up a few projects (with the help of Drew who is much better at executing my ideas than myself); however, my newest adventure is going to be sewing! Keep in mind I haven't even sat in front of a sewing machine since my days of creating Beanie Baby sleeping bags as a kid. This should be an interesting adventure to say the least.
I have inherited my Nannie's Singer Touch & Sew Deluxe Zig-Zag Sewing Machine. I hope I can make her proud by putting it to good use.

I read through the instruction guide (copyrighted 1964) and just practiced sewing straight lines back and forth...

I've done a little research on local sewing classes and have added it to my summer to-do list! Here's hoping for success!

Welcome To Our Blog

If you've found this blog you're obviously really bored or family or friends of ours. Since we constantly e-mail family and friends on all of our latest accomplishments, crafts, things the dog tore up and fish which are caught. We've decided to just post it on a blog to share with all our friends at once. We've been happily married for a little more than a year and love living in the small town atmosphere with big city commodities in Thomasville, Ga. We hope you'll become a follower and check back regularly for Hall the updates.

Best,
Amanda & Drew
